The UAE cycling season runs November to March, and three 2026–27 dates are already locked: Dubai Ride takes over Sheikh Zayed Road on Sunday 1 November 2026 (free, registration at dubairide.com opens around early October); the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo rides ~150 km from Abu Dhabi to Al Ain on Saturday 14 November 2026; and the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge — a UCI Gran Fondo World Championships qualifier — runs Sunday 7 February 2027 at Expo City, with registration open now and Aster BIG5 early-bird pricing (AED 525) until 16 August 2026. Around them: L'Étape Dubai (expected late January), the NAS Ramadan races, Al Salam's desert championship at Al Marmoom, and free weekly TrainYAS nights on the Yas Marina F1 circuit.

The big three — confirmed dates

Dubai Ride, Sunday 1 November 2026. Once a year, Sheikh Zayed Road's fourteen lanes belong to bicycles — 40,327 riders at the record 2025 edition. Two routes: the 12 km SZR ride past the Museum of the Future and over the Dubai Canal bridge, and a 4 km Downtown family loop under the Burj Khalifa. Free, all ages, registration mandatory at dubairide.com (2025's opened 3 October — expect similar). Fast riders holding 30 km/h+ can enter the 5 am Speed Laps with separate registration. Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo, Saturday 14 November 2026: around 150 km from the capital to Al Ain — the region's point-to-point epic. Spinneys Dubai 92, Sunday 7 February 2027 at Expo City: the emirate's marquee timed sportive and a UCI Gran Fondo World Championships 2027 qualifier. Registration is open now, and the Aster BIG5 package — four build-up rides plus the main event — holds an AED 525 early-bird until 16 August 2026. Note our date sourcing: 7 February comes from the official cyclechallenge.ae; ignore aggregator listings showing the 14th.

The rest of the season — expected windows

Several fixtures haven't published 2026–27 dates yet, so treat these as windows, not bookings. L'Étape Dubai by Tour de France — 110/50/20 km closed-road routes finishing at Expo Village — ran 25 January 2026 and should announce its third edition for late January 2027. Urban-Ultra's Coast to Coast, the 165/220 km west–east UAE crossing, historically lands in late November. The NAS Sports Tournament turns Nad Al Sheba into a Ramadan racing hub (next expected February–March 2027) with 74 km amateur and open road races for men and women at registration.nasst.ae. Al Salam's championship brings desert racing to Al Marmoom — including a dedicated Women's Race — with its 2026–27 calendar still to publish. And for spectators, the UAE Tour (the WorldTour pro race, 2026 edition ran 16–22 February) should confirm mid/late February 2027 dates in the autumn. We re-check and update this page as each announcement lands.

Free & weekly — no medal required

You don't need an entry fee to ride an event-grade venue in the UAE. TrainYAS opens the actual Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit every Monday and Wednesday evening (18:00–22:00, current schedule) — free, floodlit, with free loan bikes and helmets from the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, plus a women-and-children-only session on Tuesdays. In Dubai, the club scene supplies the weekly rhythm: Dubai Roadsters' group rides roll from Nad Al Sheba, and winter mornings at Al Qudra are a de facto mass ride every Friday and Saturday. If you're building toward the Spinneys 92, that's your training calendar right there — and our bike rental guide covers getting a machine under you for any of it.
