- Events: Dubai Ride grew from 37,130 (2024) to 40,327 (2025) participants, +8.6%.
Numbers you’ll see elsewhere — and what’s actually true
Dubai cycling figures are widely misquoted. For the record:
- “Cycling in Dubai doubled/tripled last year” — false. The biggest verified single-year change is +23.5% (trips). No official metric approached +100%.
- “Dubai built 636 km of track in a year” — false. The network rose from 560 km (2024) to 636 km (2025); the 636 km figure is cumulative.
- “Dubai has 1,000 km of cycle track” — not yet. 1,000 km is the official 2030 target; the current verified figure is 636 km (end-2025).
- Older figures still circulating — 463 km (2020), 544 km and 560 km (2024-era), and a superseded “739 km by 2026” target — all predate the March 2026 announcement.
